Music, literature and heritage.
The concept: to showcase the ravishing historic site that is the Carmelites Chapel over four weekends in the summer.
Every show offers the public a range of very varied concerts that bring music in contact with literature, philosophy, poetry, history, dance...hence the title, Music in Dialogue at the Carmelites, inspired by the opera by Francis Poulenc and Georges Bernanos: Dialogues of the Carmelites.
The invited artists, musicians, actors, philosophers, dancers, etc. take centre stage and their shows are quirky and even unexpected. This truly excellent and original offering takes place in a refined setting.
In 2017 the concerts that launched this event were a roaring success. The enthusiasm of the public proves how well this unique concept is received in Toulouse, in this ideal setting for chamber music in tandem with spoken word.
4 concerts are on the programme :
- "Love, always" 9th and 10th June 2018
- "From Venice to Venice ; the travels of a pampered violin..." 8th July 2018
- "The years of pilgrimage - Switzerland and Italy and Rome” on 26th August 2018
- "The voyage to Lübeck" on 23rd September 2018
